Weekend Update: USA Duathlon National Championships, Cooper River Bridge Run

USA Duathlon National Championships

It was a BIG weekend for Sarah at USA Duathlon Nationals, racing both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s race was the Draft-Legal Sprint and she killed it, placing 3rd in her AG and qualifying for 2019 Duathlon Worlds in Pontevedra, Spain!

She was greeted at the finish line by the race emcee- none other than The Chad Andrews, owner of TotalCyclist where Sarah does much of her training.

Sunday she raced the international distance, in which she also did great! At 14th in her AG she grabbed a slot at Worlds for this distance as well.

This was a great training day for Mountains to Main Street half-distance triathlon in a few weeks. I am excited for her finishing her first half!

Cooper River Bridge Run

The biggest running event in Charleston also took place this weekend, with Brian and Ken representing Team AMEC. After an AMAZING 2017 season, Brian has been recovering from a minor injury. This was his first race back and while he did not hit quite where he wanted, he still finished with an impressive 45:39.  I expect him to bounce back 100% and have a great 2018 season.

Ken fared well with a 50 min flat, placing 12th in the 60-64 AG.  Really proud of him!
